Grill Queen
Grill Queen Branch 2 ,Maginhawa St.-"The best B-B-Q in Town"
Is one of many franchises scattered across manila. There are actually two Grill Queens located along Maginhawa St. UP Village, the first being located near C.P. Garcia and the second branch being situated further into Maginhawa st. near the other establishments like Tomato Kick and Lotsa Pizza.
When entering the establishment, one immediately notices the grill, it's usualy filled with various foods being cooked. The counter beside the grill is usualy lined up with pre-prepared meats that has been put on a stick and marinated. The smell of B-B-Q fills the air, enticing you to make your order right away! The establishment isn't very presentable. The place is actualy a self service establishment where in you just obtain the food you ordered from the counter and get your eating utensils from a dispenser. But I think that doesn't matter, "The food's great!" The food Ranges from grilled Pork, Chicken, Seafood and Tofu side dished with Atsara ( pickled papaya mixed with other vegetables like carrots.), eat them with rice or no rice? Depends on your own preferences! I'de prefer to eat my Grill Queen food with no rice so that I could savor the grilled B-B-Q taste of the food.
Grilled foods aren't Grill Queen's only attraction. They also serve yummy deserts such as Special Buko salad and Ice Buko with cream corn! Although they sometimes get out of stock, so if your lucky, you might just come to Grill Queen at the right time, and get to enjoy this two yummy Filipino favorites!
I wasn't able to find an official website of Grill Queen, but I hope they'de set up one soon.

Café Xocolat
Hungarian Sausage Pasta, and a slice of That Chocolate Cake. The
tea was relaxing, a perfect blend of mint tea with the hint of
chocolate. Although the mint tea overpowered the chocolate, it
was a good thing since I think it wouldn't be good if the chocolate
overpowered the mint tea. The pasta was great. At first bite I
thought that there was nothing special about the pasta, but the
aftertaste surprised me. It left me wanting for more pasta. As I
finished eating my pasta, I was ready for That Chocolate Cake.
is not the kind that is nakakaumay. Every bite was a delight, a
magical experience. Heavenly, to be exact. For P90 per slice,
it was sulit. It is big enough for a person, and can even be shared
with a
friend.
of drinks and cakes!

Agape Days With the Lord(ADWTL)
ADWTL is a religious community that facilitates retreats for college students and professionals. The retreat is aimed to bring its participants closer to God, or better known as “ Kuya Jess” to Dayzers. ADWTL is a very secretive community; only those who have participated know what happens during the retreat. There are lots of rumors spreading around about what happens, but the only way to truly find out and understand is by joining. It’s truly a unique and enjoyable experience that everyone should try. The experience is very different from the usual retreats and recollections that other organizations offer. As cliché as this may sound its very applicable and true with days; Expect the unexpected!
Just last weekend I had my ADWTL retreat, and all I could say is that it was awesome! At first I was very hesitant to join Days, because I wasn’t the kind of person that is religious (In fact, I would probably be the last person that people would expect to join a religious anything) nor do I usually voluntarily attend retreats. Days also appeared intimidating to me because of the secrecy and not knowing what to expect. But because of my very persistent friends and the growing curiosity within me, I finally agreed to join. After the whole experience, I would say that joining was one of the best decisions I’ve made. The retreat enlightened me and brought me closer to God. Something that I wasn’t able to achieve with the other retreats I’ve had when I was in high school. So here I am, like all the other participants who have gone through with the experience, inviting everyone to join ADWTL!
The next ADWTL retreat would happen at around April of next year. ADWTL holds four retreats spread through out the year. For more information about ADWTL, you could view their facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Agape-Days-With-The-Lord/116579575091

Cello's Doughnuts and Dips
Oreo, Choco-Oreo, Cheese, Chocolate, and Caramel are the most well-known and requested for doughnut flavors at Cello's. Although these flavors (and all the others offered by Cello's) are common tastes for toppings in doughnut shops, Cello's' flavors give off a different taste. They have a certain unique touch to the tongue that will certainly bring out the doughnut-lover in you.
When you enter the doors and stand by the counter for an order, a splash of the Cello's orange-and-white-circles theme will make itself noticeable, along with the sweet scent of baking dough. After you've made your order, the ones assisting will take the freshly baked doughnuts and put your chosen toppings on you doughnuts. And yes, they DO do that in front of you, and you're pretty much assured your doughnuts are hot, well-baked, and smothered with toppings. For Oreo flavored toppings, Cello's showers your doughnuts with finely ground oreo cookies (without the vanilla cream ,of course), with a touch of sugar. Crushed oreos go really great coupled with the soft dough. As for the Choco-Oreo flavor, the same ground oreos are put on, but instead of having them stick to ordinary batter, the donuts are first dipped into chocolate frosting, and then into the bowl of ground oreos. Twice the chocolatey goodness! It may sound too sweet even for one with a sweet-tooth, but it's not really that sugary, with the milky dough that balances the sweetness of the chocolates and the mildness of bread. Cheese toppings, on the other hand, are midly sweet cheese grains sprinkled onto the donuts, that give off the tempting taste of good cheese and cheese bread. The Chocolate and Caramel flavors are two of the most evil flavors around in Cello's, continuing to tempt you to have more of these flavors because of it's goodness. Chocolate, being one of the famous favorites eveywhere else, is ordered due to commonality and it's good reputation of taste in Cello's, along with the wicked yet delicious Caramel.
Cello's does not only sell a variety of donuts with extravagant flavors, but also different baked pastries with notable flavors themselves. Pillows, for one, are small, squarish chunks of bread with the same texture and taste as plain doughnut bread. These are similar to C's, C-shaped pillows. Both Cello's Pillows and C's go with Dips, flavors of toppings in small bowls where Pillows and C's are dipped in. Ice Cream Creations are also a popular dish in the shop. These are donuts with toppings served on a plate with ice cream in the middle, whipped cream atop the ice cream, and finally, flavored sprinkles on the peak. There are pre-made flavors to choose from in Ice Cream Creations, but there is also an option to create your own combinations. The shop also offers drinks ranging from plain milk to juices to milkshakes. Orders can be taken as single orders, a box of six for regular-sized donuts, or a box of 15 for cocktail donuts (these come in half the sizes of regular donuts).
Cello's doughnuts are one of the most satisfying doughnuts ever baked. Once you get hooked onto Cello's, you might start wishing for doughnuts without center holes just to get the fullness these treats bring.
